DJ Rx, Justin Collins, has studied music since 1998 first learning to play multiple instruments, then learning to write both classical and popular music styles, and finally working as a mix engineer and DJ.
In college, he studied mathematics and music composition, learning to write music for choir and orchestra.
In 2015, he began applying this love for music into dance—at first learning Salsa and then being drawn to the music of Kizomba.
In 2016, he discovered Zouk. At this point, He began his foray into DJing in earnest, adopting the stage name DJ Rx as a nod to his current pursuit of a doctorate in medicine.
Since then he has been featured at AZoukFest, NC Latin Dance Festival, NC Zouk Festival, DC Zouk Festival, Capital Congress, Encounter and Embrace Retreat, as well as his active schedule in his local scene of Washington, DC.
He is currently working on producing his own original Zouk remixes and growing the number of congresses he DJs each year.
His style is often described as creating an ebb and flow of both traditional and contemporary sounds with a slant toward melodic, instrumental Neo Zouk.
But above all else, he always brings your prescription for Zouk.
